Project 365: June 21

This week at VBS we had one of our Youth Dept boys volunteer to work with the preschoolers. He spent the first several days just standing back and watching the kids play, seemingly unsure of how to interact with them. By the end of the week though, he had clearly made a connection. The kids were clearly in love with him. He wasn't goofy with them or even overly friendly. He was just there when they needed him for a hug or a hand to hold.

This is one of the things I just love about VBS. It's a wonderful thing to see the youth interact with the younger kids, and the older members get to know the youth in a different way. This big guy won't ever again be able to walk by the preschool department without hearing the little ones call out his name!
