Library Book Found!

We have a rule.

That rule is that all library books must stay in the living room. To be sure that the rule is understood, there is second rule. That second rule is that no book shall leave the living room. Not too difficult to understand, one would think.

Someone, and I don't know who, didn't follow the rules. As a result we got a late notice, and then a bill from our happy librarians. We looked all over and then finally gave up and paid out the nose for the book. I really chafed at the high replacement price, but knowing now that it was a hardback book, I feel better.

This library book has been living the high life - literally. While we've been searching in vain under every bed, sofa and chair, this book has been laying about on the top shelf in Katherine's room, barely visible to the height-challenged members of our family.

So now, after paying our $17.95 to the local library, we're heading into town (soon) to recapture $12.95 of it. They get to keep the other $5 for the bother of having to deal with the likes of us.
