Saturday in Emerald Isle

Everyone is at the beach...the house is so quiet. It's tempting to stay here by myself but I think I'll head down to the beach with provisions for the masses.

When I finally got down there and Granddaddy and Caroline were AWOL. Apparently they had taken a walk to the pier - 2 miles away, and had been gone 1 1/2 hours already! David took off with some drinks and found them about a 1/2 mile away just lollygagging their way back from the pier!

Once we had everyone in sight we began shell searching. The most exciting finds of the day were three sharks teeth. I had just been thinking to myself how neat it would be too find a shark's tooth when Morgan called out that she'd found one! Then I found two more! Pretty exciting!

Everyone got cleaned up and we headed back out to the dunes for some family pictures. We might have gotten one or two decent shots. It's a bit taxing to try to get everyone to smile naturally all at the same time. I can't complain too much since I'm usually the one who has the weirdest look on my face in pictures. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a few good beachy shots!

After dinner, we went back down to the beach because Caroline could not bear the thought of not swimming again. She swam, Morgan found another shark's tooth, Katherine and I searched for shells, and David watched. Will stayed at the house and read books with Grandmama!

Finally, we played Boggle! Not long enough, but enough to satisfy. I do wish they'd come up with a Boggle game that doesn't make so much noise. Then we could play well into the night.
