Project 365: March 9
Tonight was Skate Night at school. It was a PTO fundraiser, with food and a DJ. It was way better than any wrapping paper, cookie dough, candle or fresh fruit fundraiser! The kids had lots of fun! There were loads of kids skating, even really little ones! Even the Principal was there ...in skates!!! There are rumors going around that she comes to school on Saturdays and skates the hallways!
Katherine & Caroline had been wanting to attend one of these skate nights since they started having them back in the fall. For one reason or another we never could make it. So today, we dug out our skates, and even went to the Goodwill in search of another pair for Katherine since she'd outgrown hers. Katherine ended up renting a pair from the school. Caroline wore her own but realized halfway through the evening that her feet had also grown too big for her skates. Imagine that - these skates were gift from their Uncle Doug over 3 years ago!
Will declined to skate, saying he needed to be bigger to skate and wear a helmet! Instead he watched, and ate, and when he grew weary of watching & eating, he read books. Then, just as he decided we needed to leave, in walked my knight in shining armor! David and Morgan had been out getting new running shoes for Morgan and picking up their race packets for tomorrow's race. Thank goodness they decided to drop by! David took Will home and the rest of us were able to stay until the end. What a great time they had.
Now everyone's in bed and 6 o'clock will come way too soon. Goodnight.
