Chicken Check - 3 eggs today
Will has been on egg restriction for weeks, if not months, because every time he touched an egg he would drop it. Today, I got put on egg restriction. All I did was drop the egg gently into my cup and it cracked. It must have had an unusually soft shell! These girls are tough task masters. Egg restriction. Who knows how long it'll last. Katherine was on my case because it was the only blue one that we'd gathered today. Geez.
We had fun today - two of us even crawled into the chicken tractor! Once we were done feeding and watering and talking sweetly to all the fowl we grabbed some popsicles and enjoyed sitting quietly on the porch. We relaxed so much that we lost track of time and were almost late getting home in time for Morgan to head over to school for band camp.
This will be her first night to attend band camp since she's been gone all week at cross-country camp. Most of the team was able to go for three days and concentrate on conditioning - they run twice each day, swim for endurance, and listen to local runners/doctors who give them lots of advice. Morgan's glad to be home - she claims to have eaten only peanut butter and granola bars for three days. She's a bit of a picky eater! Don't know where she gets that! She was asleep in her bed last night by 8pm, murmuring quietly to herself, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home." Tomorrow she & Caroline will head to archery camp - more sleeping in bags and eating camp food!
