First Home Meet

Cross Country had its first home meet today! The girls ran at 5:30 following a great guys race. We ran against Covenant, Orange & Louisa.

I love the way the field hockey girls stopped their practice to cheer our team on!

This picture shows the girls coming out of the woods - later they'll go right back in! From here they head over to the community college campus and run up Cardiac Hill!

After Cardiac they come down out of another forest and run around a large field. Last year there were hot air balloons on this field!

Here's the cheering section -they had run over to the far end of the field to cheer Morgan on and headed back as soon as she passed by!

When Morgan heard Will cheering she smiled. At this point I think there's a little over a mile to go.

David got his hill workout in today too - there they go back into the woods. When they come out they'll have just over a half mile to run, around the field hockey and football practice fields.

The girls are heading into their last small hill. At this point though it feels like a much steeper hill than it really is!

Look at all those people cheering them on! You can see Grandmama and Granddaddy in this picture. You can also see Mary & Katherine, and maybe Will.

Morgan pulled away at that last hill and continued to put some distance between her and the girls she'd been running with.

Here she is coming into the finish! She took almost 45 seconds off of her home course PR today. Go Morgan!

Both the boys and the girls won their meet!
