Riding the Bus to School - A New Concept

As of this morning all of my children are bus riders! Yes, that's right! I have successfully created another hour and a half for crossing off the ever-pressing list of things on my to-do list!

Until this morning our elementary school bus picked up at 7am for an 8 am school start time. That always felt a bit too early, especially for my bunch of happy sleepers! So David and I have always driven the little kids into school. Until I stopped working several years ago the kids did ride the bus home on days that they didn't go to after school. Once I stopped working and knew how much they disliked the bus ride I started picking the kids up, or carpooling with Gabe's mom.

Will and Katherine were very excited about riding the bus, even though it means less morning time with Daddy. Caroline and Morgan came along to the bus stop to experience the sheer excitement of this eventful milestone!

We all hurried to the bus stop for fear that we'd be late and have to drive in after all. Morgan was so cute helping her brother out of the car.

Will gave everyone hugs and high fives. Waiting for the bus is fun!

But then we had to wait longer. When is my bus coming?

We started counting and made it up to 74 before Will lost interest - still the bus hadn't come.

Then the boy had to wander over and say goodbye to his daddy again, and give him more high fives.

Finally the bus came.

They both got on an found their seats.

Will never looked back. He found his window seat and looked out at all the stopped cars. He was on his way to school!
