The Rest of the Story...
Well, the rest of the day anyway. Our friends Valorie from Cville, and Billy, Gail and their daughters from NC, spent the day with us. It was a busy day, and probably a bit too much to pack into one day, but we all handled it well, and crashed as necessary!
Lacrosse at Klockner Stadium
After the race, we headed to the UVA women's lacrosse game against Duke. The orange team (aka Caroline & Katherine) was to play the half-time scrimmage and there was no way we were going to miss that!
UVA women played well and we enjoyed watching a good, tough game. At the half, the little girls filed onto the field to play their game. They looked so small on that huge field, and since they only played a half field, they weren't worn out and had a good time. The Blue Devils ended up winning 19-18 in overtime, but that didn't dampen our girls' spirits at all - maybe it had something to do with our leaving when the score was tied 12-12!
Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Celebration
After our little game we grabbed a quick bite to eat at, where else but, Bodo's, before heading out to the Marshall's for an Easter egg hunt. We wanted to get there in time for the hunt for Will especially since he'd made it through everyone else's commitments for the day and still hadn't had any of his own fun. So we drove quickly. We got there in time, and the boy had fallen asleep. Not only had he fallen asleep and missed the hunt, but he stayed asleep throughout the entire picnic...sleeping in the midst of all the eating and laughing and fun being had by all.
Dinner at Red Robin
After our picnic, we headed home to clean up a bit and then we headed out again...to dinner at Red Robin with out-of-town friends! It's a great place to go with kids, and since we had our 4 and 2 more, it seemed like a good choice. The kids always enjoy "playing" the arcade games - even though they don't ever really play them! The noise level is just right for dining with toddlers and kids who just can't be still! Will, having slept all afternoon, was great company and quietly colored throughout the meal. He ate his grilled cheese without a complaint and sat with us during "conbersation" without the slightest fussing! Our girls and Billy's daughter Maribelle sat at their own table and had a great time together!
Some Go to Bed; Some Go to Miller's...
Our friend Jim's band, Missing Mason, plays at Miller's once a month. While opportunities to see the band are few and far between, David was able to take his friend, and fellow 10-miler runner, Billy, for some music and beverages. Having had a long day they were home before their carriages turned into pumpkins!
