5th Grade Graduation

No more pencils, no more books!
No more teacher's dirty looks!

We began our last day of school with 5th grade graduation. Caroline and her friends had all gotten new dresses, except for Calvin, who got a new shirt and tie! We watched them file up the aisle in pairs or trios, wearing their new duds and their solemn faces. The whole grade had practiced over and over and over for 2 weeks, yet the kids looked so nervous coming into the gym! The program included selections by the whole class, the Recorder Club, and the Chorus Club. The graduates lightened up a bit and made a little noise while they were waiting for the teachers to get the slide show to work. Once the ceremony was over they all relaxed and headed outside for pictures. It was then that these former 5th graders finally looked like they were heading to middle school!

Here we have Calvin being presented with an impressive Citizenship award! No surprises there! Then, proof that Caroline did make it out of 5th grade! Yay! Then, groups of 5th grade friends!
