Friday Night Football

I have just attended my very first high school football game ever. It doesn't appear that it will be my last either, since Morgan is now playing in the high school marching band. I'd much rather sit through football to watch the marching band than to watch my boy play football. Now that I've said that out loud I'm sure I'll be doomed to have the boy play football.

Anyway, the game as exciting. The air was thick with tension due to the opposing team's vandalism of our field last night. Our players did a good job of taking out their revenge on the field. No one likes to see another team get beat that badly (unless it's Carolina or Duke!), but it was hard to feel badly for them after that prank.

Will was very excited to be there wearing his black beads and waving his black and gold pompoms. He obsessed over the Mustang mascot wondering if it was a nice horse or a mean horse. Later, after convincing Caroline to take him down to meet the horse, he did ask if there was a man inside. Will gave the mustang a quick hug and then ran back to the safety of his sister. Katherine spent the entire game learning how to braid Rianna's hair, while Caroline memorized all the referee's hand signals. Despite the excitement of the game Will fell asleep before the end of the 3rd quarter.

The game went well, and the marching band sounded great! They marched out onto the field at halftime. Right away I had Morgan in my sights and I started snapping away. It's a good thing I took a lot of pictures because the person I thought was Morgan was not. Apparently she's not the only smallish clarinet player on the field!

Once the game ended we grabbed Morgan and headed home. It was a already a late night and she has to be up early for an invitational cross country meet tomorrow!
