Quilt Retreat Spring 2010

Here's my mom with one of her quilting friends.
I started this quilt at LAST spring's retreat...
and finally got the pieces together and laid out. It was hard deciding how the blocks best fit together. I had lots of great help!

The following are the mystery quilts from last fall's retreat. They are all so different, and so lovely.

This is one of my mom's latest:

I loved this one:

And this one. The woman who made this quilt hand-dyed all of the fabrics!

These are mine:
My Santorini still needs borders, and then will need finishing.

My Open Door just needs to be quilted & bound:

O St. Patrick's Day Tree

Lucky day! Katherine found her pot of gold on the tree this morning!
How many families do you know who still have their Christmas tree up? Not many. First it was Christmas, then Valentine's, and now St. Patrick's Day!
Will was all ready to go to school in his cool leprechaun headband, until his daddy said "No hats at school!"

"There's going to be a disaster, but don't worry..."

So, I'm not really sure what I was doing, but I know I was working really hard on something - a quilt, maybe, but more likely I was just on the computer and not paying close enough attention to my youngest child.
He'd been building a town all afternoon, moving things around, feeding Goofy & a Veggie Tale guy to the neighborhood shark. He filled up a huge grape juice container with water - it was the town's water tower. I should have known.
And then...somewhere in the distance I heard, "Okay Mommy, there's going to be a disaster, but don't worry, I'll clean it up."

Just as his words sank in, he tipped the water tower over and, Whoosh! In a split second there was water running all over the floor. A flood! The bottle only half emptied yet the water soaked three towels! He's promised no more floods.
